/* webcomic idea Birthright 2024Jul23 Chubby lesbian anthro raccoon woman with teal light blue fur & grey stripes somehow existing on the regular version of Earth & reality . Name Kira? Forklift certified working in a warehouse gives up and quits her mediocre job after accidentally causing a massive shelving collapse. (p.s. she wares clothes like a human) This wasn't her first big mistake, only the most recent and biggest. Fortunately nobody was killed or injured in the collapse. Her employer is a (kind?) liberal type willing to keep putting up with her unsuitedness for the job for dei purposes. Her coworkers had to sign a a nda keeping her existence secret from the general public & some were already employees of the logistics company b4 she showed up to get a job there. & some are resentful & racist & some r merely resentful of the nda & cover up. The gov knows about her, she has a work visa or at least a temp tax filing id number. She has actually lived on Earth most of her life only recently making her presence known to a few humans other than the area 51 special forces who had been tracking her secretly ever since the real parents who she doesn't remember abandoned her in Montana a robot Butler looked after her as a young child and taught her to speak English, then left her as well when it calculated she was likely to survive on her own. ** back to narrative: Her boss on the pa from the high yellow frame office with fiberglass windows begs her to stay & give herself another chance to get better at the job but she says you know I'm terrible at this, removes her yellow hard hat and continues walking away sadly. She lives in a small boarded up rental house in a sparsely populated edge of town near her job site. (a Colorado suburb?) The closest neighbors a few blocks away don't know who lives there. Walking home the usual route but this Monday 3 hours early and unemployed in mid evening with the sun not quite about to set, & distractedly daydreaming about undisclosed lesbian stuff, she accidentally notices an abandoned cinderblock walled garden with a metal gate knocked loose from its hinges right next to the sidewalk. It has been there since she's lived in this suberb but the gate wasn't bashed in before today. Gov agents r chasing her or people out for an evening walk on an unusual route are about to see her suddenly. She ducks into the overgrown garden to remain unseen & finds the wooden door of the abandoned house made of the same cinder block as the garden wall also smashed in off its hinges. Curiously venturing inside she hears the humans on the sidewalk enter the garden seemingly out of curiosity for the noise of her brushing past vines & shrubs in the overgrown garden. She finds a once hidden staircase leading to the attic on the other side of exposed wooden joists in a back wall of the room & carefully quietly escapes up. Then she finds a 2nd staircase next to a fallen down insulated flexible air duct going up through the roof out of reality into a pocket dimension & inside that pocket is another unfinished attic-like room but with 3 chrome podium control panels in the middle of the far wall. And of all things to find accidentally, her old robot butler standing powered off near the leftmost control panel. She powers on the robot & orders it to close the camouflaged portal just before the humans find it who are now almost certainly gov agents and not unmalicious townspeople. Now from the computer consoles with a little help from her robot she learns her own full origin story. This pocket dimension is actually a spacetime vehicle that belonged to her parents that can be in or out of realities. A large number of her species had had the technilogic ability to travel anywhere & anyWHEN using only a little energy absorbed from the surrounding space. There's recordings to her from her parents just like Superman had in some stories. Some violent conflicts happened as a result of her people's actions in times and alternate universes they had traveled to. Leading up to mass unrest & her people murdering each other over disagreements about how to solve the crisis created by their great technological powers. Which ultimately resulted in the collective majority but not unanimous discission by her species to opt for self extinction. Her parents were some extremists fighting the extinction mandates with terrorism. They were eventually arrested & put under intense surveillance along with the other last days rebels. They were gently forced to choose between getting euthanized with the rest of their species or a more painful execution. They already had their baby & so with their leaders permission took one last trip to our reality to Earth but not changing their position in time. They had to report back to their deaths or else they would be hunted down. So they abandoned their daughter & tricked the leaders into thinking she wouldn't survive the Earth wilderness. They knew all their technology was trackable so they had to have the Butler abandon her at some point so there would be no sign for the leader's computer system to detect she was still alive. When her parents' Robot & ship powered off completely as they previously had been instructed to do, the leaders computers powered off permanently after they detected the last citizen computers (which where her parents possessions, who had been dead for years already now.) powering off. The robot butler says the whole empire's territory and technology accumulated knowledge machinery metropolises and vehicles are legally all her individual birthright. And here she is at the console, the very last of her kind crying silently from learning the truth. {add dialogue to make story longer} */ self.story=i.value; story.length/6;
